American Heart Association's Heart Walk Juvenile Diabetes Foundation's Walk for the Cure Salvation Army's Toys for Tots Habitat for Humanity Habitat House The mission of the ASB Philanthropy Committee is to bring students together in order that they may serve the medical community by advancing the well-being of humanity through volunteer work and charitable donations. The following is a brief list of projects in which the ASB is involved: Junior Diabetes Research Foundation – This is a walk used to raise money for diabetes research.
Toys for Tots – Toys are donated through the Salvation Army to children whose parents or guardians are not able to afford presents for them at Christmas.
Habitat for Humanity – Habitat is a great way for students to really give back to the community. This year, two houses were built for UMC-affiliated employees who were not able to afford suitable housing for their families.
Heart Walk – This is a walk used to raise money for heart health awareness.
